Current Career Opportunities

Pension Policy Director

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Pension Policy Director is a pension expert responsible for providing strategic support and pension benefit and administration analysis to PSPP Corporation, as the trustee and administrator of the Public Service Pension Plan. The Pension Policy Director plays a key role in oversight and management of pension administration services and advises the Corporation and the Board of Directors on benefits and administrative services. The Pension Policy Director also supports the PSPP Sponsor Board in the review and amendment of plan provisions and funding policy.


  • University Degree in a related discipline (e.g. actuarial science, finance, business administration, law, economics).
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in pensions, pension investments and pension/benefit administration.
  • Fellowship in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or equivalent would be considered an asset.
  • CEBS or equivalent designation would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Income Tax Act and the Employment Pension Plans Act and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the Joint Governance of Public Sector Pension Plans Act, and the former Public Sector Pension Plans Act and regulations.
  • Deep understanding of defined benefit pension plans, including design, funding, pension policy and issues affecting pension plans in Canada and Alberta.
  • Deep understanding of pension administration.
  • A good understanding of actuarial science and principles.
