Current Career Opportunities

Finance and Risk Director

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance and Risk Director is responsible for developing and implementing financial reporting and controls for PSPP Corporation and the Public Service Pension Plan (Plan). The Finance and Risk Director is also responsible for leading the development of an enterprise-wide risk management framework for PSPP Corporation.

  • University Degree in a related discipline (e.g. finance, business, economics).
  • CPA designation.
  • At least 10 years of relevant and progressive experience in financial or risk management.
  • Experience with pension plan financial management is an asset.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation or other widely recognized control/risk management certification is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of financial disciplines, particularly corporate finance, investments and accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian accounting standards for pension plans and International Financial Reporting Standards will be required. This can be learned on the job as long the candidate has a strong overall grounding in accounting standards and the ability to research and learn the relevant standards.
  • Knowledge of principles and best practices of enterprise risk management.
  • Broad understanding of Defined Benefit pension plans.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver professional presentations and to explain complex issues and concepts in plain-language to a diverse group of individuals with varying levels of knowledge.
  • Executive level critical thinking, analysis, and planning.
  • Ability to think strategically about opportunities and challenges and engage in short, medium and long-range planning.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
