“It feels good to know that I am saving for my future with the help of PSPP. I believe it will offset many expenses and allow me to live within normal means.”
Ensuring that members have the most current and accessible information about their pension benefits is at the heart of PSPP’s commitment. Every year, we refine and enhance our communication processes to deliver relevant updates efficiently and effectively.
This year marked a significant transformation for PSPP as we embraced a modernized brand identity and an improved website experience. Our fresh new logo now unifies PSPP Corporation and the Public Service Pension Plan under a single, forward-looking identity. The website has undergone extensive reorganization, ensuring it better aligns with the needs of both members and employers.
We continue to prioritize clear, engaging ways to help members navigate their pension options. In 2024, we introduced two informative videos covering PSPP Retirement Pension Options and the Pension Service Transfer Process. These additions help simplify complex concepts and offer members an easy way to understand their benefits.
We also expanded our collection of brochures, publishing seven new guides on crucial pension topics, including leaving your employer, preparing for retirement, purchasing service, handling relationship changes, taking a leave of absence, and navigating the online retirement application process. Alongside these, we developed a Retirement Checklist and a Retirement Expense Worksheet—helpful tools designed to assist members in planning for their financial future.
For those new to PSPP, Onboarding Presentations became a key feature in 2024, launching in the spring and permanently incorporated into our monthly online sessions by September. These sessions offer valuable insights for new hires and members who want to familiarize themselves with their pension plan.
Beyond onboarding, PSPP continued its commitment to educating members through regular online and in-person presentations. In 2024, we hosted 95 online sessions and 10 in-person sessions, covering key topics such as general pension overviews and retirement preparation. With nearly 3,500 members participating in these sessions, we saw a strong engagement in learning about pension benefits.
To enhance security and streamline communication, paperless annual statements were introduced for pensioners in 2024. Now, members can securely access their annual statements through Your Pension Profile (YPP), joining active and deferred PSPP members in this secure digital platform. Physical statements are now mailed only upon specific member requests.
Keeping members informed remains a priority, and in 2024, we published two issues of PSPP Talks, our electronic newsletter. Each edition was customized—one tailored for active and deferred members, and another for retirees—ensuring that members receive the most relevant updates. PSPP Talks is sent only when significant information needs to be shared, making it a trusted source for pension news.
In addition to newsletters, social media engagement played a crucial role in expanding our reach. We nearly doubled our LinkedIn followers, providing updates to help members navigate their pensions while also advocating for the advantages of a defined benefit pension plan.
With increased access to online tools and educational resources, member engagement continues to rise. More members are registering for Your Pension Profile (YPP), with a 4.5% increase in registrations over 2023, bringing total registration to 63.3% of PSPP members.
| % change from 2023 | ||

| % of Deferred members enrolled | 47.1% | 3.6% increase |
| % of Retired members enrolled | 59.4% | 4.9% increase |
Digital convenience is also evident in pension applications—more than 50% of applications were conducted through YPP in 2024. Meanwhile, secure messages as a fraction of total member contacts remained at just under a third, reflecting reliance on PSPP’s online platform.

As we look ahead, PSPP remains committed to delivering innovative solutions and accessible information, ensuring every member can make informed decisions about their pension benefits. Whether through enhanced tools, online presentations, or personalized resources, we continue to evolve, always keeping our members’ needs at the forefront.
Participating employers play a vital role in ensuring the success of PSPP. As the first point of contact for members seeking information, employers are instrumental in fostering a clear and seamless experience for their employees. Recognizing this, we are committed to building strong, supportive relationships with employers through various outreach initiatives designed to better understand their needs and provide the most effective assistance.
To enhance employer support, PSPP provides access to a dedicated Stakeholder Representative who serves as a reliable guide, addressing inquiries and directing employers to the appropriate resources. This personalized assistance ensures that employers have the tools and knowledge they need to navigate their reporting responsibilities with confidence.
In our ongoing commitment to employer success, PSPP maintained several key initiatives in 2024:
In 2024, PSPP hosted two roundtable events—one in Calgary and one in Edmonton—that saw an impressive 93% participation rate among employers. These gatherings provided an invaluable platform for employers to network, share insights, and discuss reporting challenges with their peers. The roundtable forum also allowed PSPP to update employers on changes to plan benefits and administration while delivering tailored training sessions to better support employees and members.
To ensure continuous improvement, employers were surveyed at both roundtable events to identify areas needing attention. This feedback now guides future training sessions and administration enhancements, reinforcing our commitment to providing the best possible support. The results speak for themselves—employer satisfaction with PSPP services was rated an outstanding 9 out of 10.
Through ongoing collaboration, education, and targeted outreach, PSPP remains dedicated to empowering employers with the knowledge and resources they need to serve our members effectively. By strengthening these partnerships, we are setting the stage for continued success and growth in the years ahead.
